Dr. Wolfgang Kissel founded Competitive Impact - Business Coaching in February 2008 in Australia. He has some 20 years of business experience, 15 years of which have been with global responsibilities and projects. He is experienced in driving organisational effectiveness and people development to heighten achievement and performance. He is a strategic thinker who puts strategy into action. With his in-depth knowledge and expertise in the area of Strategy and People and the related processes he specializes on increasing the competiveness of organizations through People Solutions.

Dr. Kissel is of German origin and has worked and lived with his family in Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland. He comes from a scientific background and is a Biochemist by training. He studied in Stuttgart and Mainz, Germany. Dr. Kissel earned a Masters degree at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany in Nutrition Science, worked on his Ph.D. thesis at the Institute of Toxicology, University of Mainz and University of Hohenheim, Germany. For his Ph.D. studies he was awarded with a scholarship from the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation. 

Dr. Kissel spent 13 years with Hoffmann-La Roche AG Diagnostics and its predecessors specializing in Organisational- and Management development. In 1988 he joined Boehringer Mannheim, Germany (a global leader in Diagnostics and Diabetes Care), and took on various responsibilities for Education, Training, Organisational Development and Human Resources. In these years he gained experience in Strategy Execution, Change Management and Industry Relations. When Hoffmann-La Roche AG, Basel, Switzerland acquired Boehringer Mannheim, Dr. Kissel was appointed Vice President, International Human Resources and Management Development and focused on the integration process of Roche and Boehringer Mannheim.

In 2000 and 2001 he was active in startups and as a consultant and then joined ICN International, Basel, Switzerland (now Valeant Pharmaceuticals). As Executive Vice President Human Resources he was focusing on the restructuring of the European business and of Global Manufacturing & Supply including major divestment of factories. He was the Executive sponsor of Valeant’s Operational Excellence – Lean Six Sigma program and General Manager and Member of the boards of several Valeant subsidiaries.

In 2008 Dr. Kissel founded his business focusing on raising competitiveness of companies and individuals and he decided with his family to start his venture in Victoria / Australia. In July 2009, he was appointed Director of MA Star Pty Ltd. He is a member of the Australian German Association (AGA) and the Rotary Club of Melbourne.
